4th largest Michigan-based bank dedicated an entire day to a company-wide volunteer effort
Independent Bank closed its offices on Columbus Day, October 9, 2017, to participate in its second annual all-employee volunteer day. Independent Bank’s employees took part in “Making A Difference Day,” where they volunteered in teams across the state.
Employees selected from a variety of organizations and non-profits throughout their local communities to give back for the day. Taking part in volunteer activities, ranging from demoing a house in Grand Rapids for Habitat For Humanity of Kent County to decorating the Saginaw Children’s Zoo for Halloween and cleaning up cemeteries in Newaygo and Bay City, the Independent Bank teams throughout Michigan and parts of Ohio definitely made a positive difference in their communities.
“Participating in Independent Bank’s second company-wide volunteer day was such a great experience for our employees,” said Tricia Raquepaw, SVP, Marketing Director at Independent Bank.“ It makes you so proud of the work we do as a company, knowing the high value that is placed on giving back to our communities.”
