Michigan-based bank participated in 4th annual company-wide volunteer day
Independent Bank closed its offices on Columbus Day, October 14, 2019, to participate in its fourth annual all-employee volunteer day. Independent Bank’s employees took part in “Making A Difference Day,” where they volunteered in teams across Michigan and parts of Ohio. For the second year in a row, as part of their “Investing in Volunteering” initiative, the Bank also donated $100,000 to the various organizations in which they volunteered.
Employees selected from a variety of organizations and non-profits throughout their local communities to give back for the day. In Grand Rapids, employees built townhomes with Habitat for Humanity of Kent County; in Ionia, employees packed sack lunches at IM Kids 3rd Meal; and in Saginaw, employees assisted with cleaning at the Mustard Seed Women’s Shelter.
“Our employees truly look forward to Making a Difference Day every year,” said Tricia Raquepaw-Schabel, SVP, Marketing Director at Independent Bank. “They enjoy spending time in their communities with their teams, and love to see the positive difference they can make for so many different organizations.”
