Independent Bank Donates Over $112,000 to Help the People of Ukraine

By Independent Bank April 21 2022 Press Release

Ukraine_Nest_Tile_0322Independent Bank recently donated $112,240 to assist the people of Ukraine. The Bank selected two 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations to equally send funds—Razom (Together) for Ukraine and Doctors Without Borders USA. The donated funds are being used to provide much-needed medical supplies and relief for the Ukrainian people as the crisis with Russia continues.

As an organization, Independent Bank wanted to do something to assist those currently suffering in Ukraine. They offered their employees the opportunity to donate to these nonprofit organizations that are making a positive impact during a very tumultuous time. The Bank then made a commitment to match those employee donations dollar for dollar.

Independent Bank started with a company goal to raise $50,000 in a two-week period. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of Independent Bank employees, this goal was far surpassed. 430 employees donated a total of $56,120. Independent Bank matched those donations, bringing the total humanitarian support to $112,240.

“I am so proud of our team and their efforts to help the people of Ukraine,” said Brad Kessel, President and CEO of Independent Bank. “Their act of kindness is inspirational.”
