Independent Bank is proud to recognize the immense accomplishments of the 2023 Graduate School of Banking (GSB) at the University of Wisconsin – Madison graduates. This year, Independent Bank’s Vice President, Loan Review, Elizabeth Koepfgen as well as Vice President, Community Business Banker, Jennifer McDurmon were part of the graduating class.
Both Ms. Koepfgen and Ms. McDurmon received a Certificate of Executive Leadership from the Wisconsin School of Business Center for Professional and Executive Development for completing the rigorous GSB curriculum.
The GSB School of Banking is sponsored and governed by the Central States Conference of Bankers Associations in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. GSB was established in 1945, and provides a comprehensive course of study covering industry and management subjects designed to prepare mid- and upper-level financial services managers for positions of greater responsibility in their organizations. It is a three-year program, in which subjects covered directly relate to the leadership, management, and operation of a financial organization.
Ms. Koepfgen has served nearly 20 years in several capacities of the banking industry, including business banking, portfolio management, and analytics. She is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Finance and a Graduate Certificate in International Administration.
Ms. McDurmon has worked in the financial industry for over 20 years, including roles in Retail Banking as well as her current role as Vice President, Community Business Banker. She is a graduate of Saginaw Valley State University, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with an Accounting Minor. Ms. McDurmon also graduated in the top percentile of the GSB Class of 2023, receiving an Honors Recognition.
